Much of the Front Range sits on expansive clay soil, and over the years a concrete slab can shift just enough to crack tile above it. We check the floor first, flatten low spots, and use a crack-isolation membrane where movement is a concern. Over plywood, an uncoupling layer is usually part of the plan too.
We handle the whole job ourselves: moving furniture, pulling out the old floor, prepping the surface, setting and grouting, trimming, and cleanup. Within ten days of installation we come back to make sure your new floor is performing well. Tile Flooring - frequently asked questions
Most rooms take two to four days. Day one covers demolition and prep, then setting, then grouting and cleanup once the mortar has cured. Showers, large-format tile, and floors needing repair take longer, and we will give you a schedule at your estimate.
Often, yes. Concrete slabs in our area can move with the clay soil beneath them, and plywood floors flex. A membrane lets the tile ride over small movements instead of cracking. We will tell you honestly whether your floor needs one.
Sometimes, if the old tile is tightly bonded and flat and the added height will not interfere with doors or appliances. Most of the time we remove it so the new tile sits on a clean, solid base. We will check at your free estimate.
Yes. Tile is one of the best matches for radiant systems, and many newer Broomfield and Erie homes already have them. If you are planning a heated floor, mention it early so we can plan the layout, and ask about our financing options for larger projects.
Our water leaves mineral film on grout and tile. Wipe wet areas after use, clean with a pH-neutral cleaner, and seal cement grout on the schedule we give you. Epoxy grout is an option in showers where you want less upkeep.
